A community more engaged than ever!
A local event with an international dimension
The 2025 edition of the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc highlights its strong connection to the regions it crosses: France, Italy, and Switzerland. This yar, 79% of participants coming from Europe with 52% from French, Swiss, or Italian, confirming the event’s strong local presence.
At the same time, its global appeal continues to rise, with runners from 121 nations set to take on the Mont-Blanc trails this year.
Figures for the 2025 edition
With over 25,000 applications received for the 2025 lottery, the excitement for the UTMB World Series Finals continues to grow. This year, demand has increased by 30% compared to 2024, with nearly 10,000 applications for the OCC, 8,900 for the UTMB, and 6,000 for the CCC.
As a result, demand now exceeds capacity by a factor of five. While this demonstrates the ongoing appeal of the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc, we also acknowledge the disappointment for many runners. Each application represents the start of a journey, and we extend our gratitude to the entire community for its commitment.
Staying true to its values, UTMB has maintained the same entry quota since 2006, ensuring the protection of natural landscapes and local communities while delivering a world-class experience for runners.
Each year, we are deeply moved by the growing enthusiasm for the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc and by the dedication of runners from around the world. While closing the lottery is a key milestone, it is also a difficult moment — we know how many runners dream of being at the start, and it is always frustrating to have to turn away so many hopeful applicants.

Running Stones: Even More Numerous This Year
The average number of Running Stones collected by applicants for the UTMB 2025 continues to rise, reaching 6.4 compared to 5.4 in 2024. The trend is similar for the CCC (4.4 vs. 4 in 2024) and the OCC (3.2 vs. 2.8 in 2024).
With the expansion of the UTMB World Series circuit, which allows runners to earn Running Stones closer to home, participants are increasingly optimising their lottery chances.
€600,000 donated to charities causes in 2025
