COURSE CHANGES
This year, there are 3 modifications to the course for the TDS:
- The main change is in Hauteluce : the TDS will no longer pass by Mont Clocher and the refuge de la Croix de Pierre. Instead, the new course will go by the side of the Girotte, offering a natural and technical path !
- After leaving the aid station in Hauteluce : you will face a nice climb towards the Lac de Girotte. You will then cross Alpine pastures, rhododendrons and blueberry bushes to reach the next aid station, still located in Signal. This change adds 16km of new paths to discover, so be sure to familiarize yourself with the new route.
- Minor changes : at Col Chavannes, the course will descend directly towards l'Alpe de Chavannes du Fond via a nice technical path. At Lac Verney, the path will slightly differ near the lieudit "Les Balmettes".
The new GPX track, updated with all this changes, is available here.
ON LES TRACES DES DUCS DE SAVOIE
Beautiful, technical, wild, demanding, there are not enough adjectives to describe the TDS. Acronym for "Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie" (following the footprints of the Dukes of Savoie), the TDS links the Aosta Valley to the Savoie, allowing you to discover the villages of the Tour du Mont-Blanc and the mountains that surround them. To cross this unique playground is to walk where history and mountains, the technical terrain and the kindness of its inhabitants blend together.
In addition to its traditional departure from Courmayeur, the new edition of the TDS takes you through the Beaufortain region winding through the most amazing places of the massif such as Pas d'Outray, with its breathtaking view of the Pierra Menta and Grand Mont - two mythical places for ski mountaineering. Not to mention Hauteluce with its typical hamlets and its breathtaking view of Mont-Blanc. With its unique landscapes, its friendly and alpine atmosphere, the TDS is more than ever a world-class event and the adventure of a lifetime. It is up to you to come and write the history of this spectacular race.
