Bus/Shuttle
Many transport agencies offer bus transfer services in France. Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of these companies:
When you arrive, getting around the Chamonix Valley (from Servoz to Vallorcine) is easier with the Chamonix Mobilité public bus network!
Following the OCC, CCC, and UTMB races is only possible using the organization’s buses. We will notify you by email as soon as reservations become available.
Carpooling
If you can't find a train or bus solution that suits your needs, consider carpooling, we strongly recommend that you optimize on the number of people the car can carry (no less than 3) by giving friends a lift, or by offering any remaining seats on a carpooling platform, such as Blablacar.
Carpool with ATMB, mobility partner of the HOKA UTMB® Mont-Blanc
With 698 parking spaces, ATMB is the French highway network with the highest number of carpooling spaces relative to its size.
Feel free to use one of the network's parking lots to come to the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc. More info on ATMB parking below.
Car
As getting around in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley is very easy thanks to public transport, and personal cars are useless during the event, we strongly advise you to use the train and bus to come to the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc.
ATTENTION: As the city center car parks are overcrowded, we strongly advise against using your car to get around the valley. Use the valley's public transport!
Plane
To reach Chamonix while reducing your carbon footprint, choose a direct route with just one flight to one of the nearest airports:
- Geneva (GVA) – About 1.5 hours away, with multiple bus companies offering direct transfers to Chamonix or by train from Geneva Cornavin train station.
- Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LYS) – Around 2.5 hours away, with a direct TGV (train) to Annecy or Bellegarde, then a train or bus to Chamonix.
- Milan Malpensa (MXP) – Direct bus services to Chamonix.
- Zurich (ZRH) – Travel via Switzerland by train for a scenic journey
- Paris (CDG/ORY) – Direct TGV (train) to Annecy or Bellegarde, then a train or bus to Chamonix.
If you arrive at the airports here above DO NOT RENT A CAR! Many operators offer transfers to Chamonix by shuttle and/or train.
By limiting the number of flights and choosing public transport, you help preserve the stunning Mont Blanc region.
