How to get to Courmayeur

Traveling by train is a convenient and sustainable choice, though it may require a transfer. While you won’t need to worry about parking, you should plan for a combination of train and bus services to reach your final destination!

Due to ongoing construction, direct train service to Aosta is unavailable. Trenitalia provides a replacement bus service from the nearest train station to Aosta.

Once in Aosta, you will need to take a bus operated by Arriva Italia to complete your journey to Courmayeur.

When in Courmayeur, you won't need a car to get around. Use Courmayeur's public shuttle service, Aosta Arriva, - which allows for you to move around and reach Val Ferret and Val Veny. It's free!

Milano Malpensa Airport, the nearest airport to Courmayeur, is well-connected to the town by bus services. You can easily book your journey from the airport to Courmayeur through FlixBus.

For those traveling from Chamonix, there is a public bus service that provides convenient connections between Chamonix and Courmayeur in both directions. You can book your trip via Aosta Arriva.

You also have a Flixbus transfer available from Torino Caselle Airport to Courmayeur.

If you can't find a train or bus solution that suits your needs, consider carpooling, we strongly recommend that you optimize on the number of people the car can carry (no less than 3) by giving friends a lift, or by offering any remaining seats on a carpooling platform, such as Blablacar.

Reaching Courmayeur or Aosta requires some planning. Personal cars are essentially useless during the event, so we strongly advise you to use the bus and train for your journey to the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc.

ATTENTION: As the city center car parks are overcrowded, we strongly advise against using your car to get around Courmayeur. Use the valley's public transport Aosta Arriva!

To reach Courmayeur while reducing your carbon footprint, choose a direct route with just one flight to one of the nearest airports:

• Turin Caselle National Airport – about 150 km (then take a FlixBus to Aosta, where you will transfer to another bus operated by Arriva Italia that will take you to Courmayeur)
• Geneva (GVA) – about 115 km (you will first take a bus to Chamonix, followed by a transfer to Courmayeur with Arriva Aosta)
• Milan Malpensa (MXP) – about 212 km (then bus to Courmayeur with Arriva Italy)

If you arrive at the airports here above DO NOT RENT A CAR! Many operators offer transfers to Courmayeur by bus.
