How to get to Courmayeur ?

Train and Bus

Taking the train to Courmayeur is a great alternative to road traffic. You can reach the Aosta railway station and then continue by bus from Aosta to Courmayeur. Aosta railway station is located near the city's historic centre, right in front of the bus station. Aosta is directly connected, with no changes required, to Turin Porta Nuova and Turin Porta Susa stations, with over 20 daily services. The journey time is under 120 minutes. Arriving by train from Milan is also possible in approximately 180 minutes, with one train change at Chivasso station.

Please note: due to railway electrification works, until 13 December 2026, the rail service between Ivrea and Aosta is suspended and replaced by buses.

From Chamonix : A public bus service is available, conveniently connecting Chamonix and Courmayeur in both directions. Check Flixbus and Arriva.

AIRPORT CONNECTIONS

Turin, Milan and Geneva are the closest airports to Courmayeur. From Turin and Milan airports: take the train to Aosta, then continue from Aosta to Courmayeur by bus. From Geneva airport: take the Flixbus Geneva–Courmayeur bus service directly to Courmayeur.

USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT

As car parks in the town centre are often overcrowded, we strongly advise against using a car to get around Courmayeur. Use public transport instead: visit the Arriva website.

carpooling

If you cannot find a suitable train or bus option, consider carpooling. We strongly recommend optimizing the number of passengers per car, with at least 3 people, by offering seats to friends or via carpooling platforms such as BlaBlaCar.

Car

Getting to Courmayeur or Aosta by car requires a bit of planning. Private cars are practically useless during the event, so we strongly recommend using the train and bus for your journey to the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc.

WARNING : As town centre car parks are saturated, we strongly advise against using your car to get around Courmayeur. Use the valley's public transport instead : Aosta Arriva !

Plane

To reach Courmayeur while reducing your carbon footprint, choose a direct route with a single flight to one of the nearest airports:

Turin Caselle Airport – approximately 150 km away (then FlixBus to Aosta, followed by Arriva Italia bus to Courmayeur)
Geneva (GVA) – approximately 115 km away (bus to Chamonix, then transfer with Arriva Aosta to Courmayeur)
Milan Malpensa (MXP) – approximately 212 km away (then bus to Courmayeur with Arriva Italia)

If you arrive through these airports, DO NOT RENT A CAR ! Many operators offer bus transfers to Courmayeur.
