Special Friday, August 30 : Complete Road Closures to Access Saint Gervais and Les Contamines

As part of the organization of the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc and in collaboration with local officials and the national gendarmerie,** road closures will be implemented on Friday, August 30, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM**. These measures aim to manage the traffic flow of race companions and spectators for the UTMB while preserving the quality of life for residents.

Non-residents will not be able to enter Saint-Gervais or Les Contamines with their personal vehicles during this period.

Affected Areas:

  • Red light at highway exit No. 22: closure of D1205, access to Le Fayet from the highway.
  • Allobroges roundabout: closure of D902, access to Saint-Gervais from Le Fayet.
  • Megève roundabout: closure of D909, access to Saint-Gervais from Megève.
  • Access via the routes to Bettex and Saint-Nicolas de Véroce: closures on Ponthieux and Orsin roads.

Residents of Saint-Gervais, including Bettex and Saint-Nicolas de Véroce , Les Contamines, and Passy, including those staying in hotels and other temporary accommodations, can obtain a pass from their respective Tourist Office to travel during these closure hours. Passes will be available from August 20 upon presentation of the vehicle's registration document and proof of residence / or a certificate from their employer / or a certificate of accommodation from a host (hoteliers, renters, etc.)

For non-residents of Saint-Gervais and Les Contamines, it will not be possible to access Saint-Gervais or Les Contamines by car without a pass. The organization offers several transport solutions to follow the start of the race peacefully:

  • BY TRAIN: Departing from the Arve Valley or Chamonix, Les Houches, Servoz, the train is the easiest way to arrive at the Fayet station and take the Mont-Blanc Tramway (TMB) from the station exit. From 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM, the TMB trip from Le Fayet to Saint-Gervais will be exceptionally free.

  • BY BUS: From Chamonix, special UTMB Buses will be arranged to allow companions and spectators to directly reach the center of Saint-Gervais.

  • BY CAR: Parking at the relay car parks in Passy: A free UTMB Bus shuttle service will transport you to the Mont-Blanc Tramway station. From 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the TMB trip from Le Fayet to Saint-Gervais will be exceptionally free.
