How to get to Courmayeur ?

Travelling by train is a practical and sustainable choice, although a change may sometimes be required. You will not need to worry about parking, but you should plan for a combination of train and bus services to reach your final destination.

Due to ongoing works on the Ivrea-Aosta line, the direct rail service to Aosta is replaced by substitute buses. Depending on your itinerary, a bus connection may be required from Ivrea, or from Chivasso during certain phases of the works. Please check the latest timetables with Trenitalia before departure.

Once in Aosta, you will need to take a bus operated by Arriva Italia to complete your journey to Courmayeur.

Once in Courmayeur, you will not need a car to get around. Use Courmayeur’s public shuttle service, Aosta Arriva, which allows you to travel easily and reach Val Ferret and Val Veny. It is free !

Milano Malpensa Airport, the closest airport to Courmayeur, is well connected to the town by bus services. You can easily book your journey from the airport to Courmayeur via FlixBus.

For those travelling from Chamonix, a bus service provides a convenient connection in both directions between Chamonix and Courmayeur. Four return trips per day allow you to make the journey within the day.

Your UTMB Mobility pass allows you to use this line. You can book your journey via Aosta Arriva.

A FlixBus route also provides this transfer between Chamonix and Courmayeur (except on Wednesdays).

If you cannot find a suitable train or bus option, consider carpooling. We strongly recommend optimizing the number of passengers per car, with at least 3 people, by offering seats to friends or via carpooling platforms such as BlaBlaCar.

Getting to Courmayeur or Aosta by car requires some planning. Private cars are practically unnecessary during the event, so we strongly recommend using train and bus services for your journey to the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc.

WARNING: As city-centre car parks are saturated, we strongly discourage using your car to travel around Courmayeur. Please use the valley’s public transport services instead: Aosta Arriva !

To reach Courmayeur while reducing your carbon footprint, choose a direct route with a single flight to one of the nearest airports:

• Turin Caselle Airport – approximately 150 km away (then FlixBus to Aosta, followed by Arriva Italia bus to Courmayeur)
• Geneva (GVA) – approximately 115 km away (bus to Chamonix, then transfer with Arriva Aosta to Courmayeur)
• Milan Malpensa (MXP) – approximately 212 km away (then bus to Courmayeur with Arriva Italia)

If you arrive through these airports, DO NOT RENT A CAR ! Many operators offer bus transfers to Courmayeur.
