How to get around during the races ?

During the event week, the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc sets up a large-scale mobility plan allowing spectators to follow all races without needing a private car.

It is essential to enable runners and their supporters to enjoy an exceptional experience while also removing the nuisance caused by the use of private cars to travel around the Mont-Blanc massif.

Runners

Coaches and trains are provided to take you to the race starts (MCC, TDS®, YCC, ETC, UTMB®, OCC and CCC®). Access to these coaches is free on presentation of the QR code shown on your race bib.

It is mandatory to reserve your seat to travel to the race start. Please go to your MyUTMB account.

After the races, coaches are also made available to take you back to your pick-up point. As with the outward journey, booking your seat is mandatory. This service is free on presentation of the QR code shown on your race bib.

Please note : for the MCC and OCC, access to the race start for runners is mandatory via the UTMB Mobility system, except for permanent Swiss residents. Non-residents staying in Switzerland will be required to upload proof of accommodation from their registration dashboard. Failure to comply with this rule may result in a penalty.

Reservations must be made in your MyUTMB runner account from 18/05 to 04/07. No reservations will be possible on site.

Coaches are also provided to repatriate you in the event of withdrawal. The organisation is responsible for these repatriations.

Getting to the start and following the race

Coaches and trains are provided to allow you to reach the race starts (MCC, TDS®, YCC, ETC, OCC, UTMB® and CCC®) and to follow certain races along their routes (UTMB®, CCC®, TDS®, OCC and MCC).

Access to these transport services is reserved for people with a UTMB Mobility pass, on sale from 18/05 to 04/07 only. No sales will be available on site.

Transport to the start is included in the following passes: UTMB: FRA pass / CCC: ITA pass. You must still reserve your departure time slot.

After payment, you will receive a QR code by email. This is your transport ticket for the race or races selected.

Please note

  • The UTMB has 3 separate passes (FRA, ITA and SUI/CHE).
  • The CCC has 2 separate passes (ITA and SUI/CHE).
  • Access to coaches is strictly reserved for people with a valid transport ticket.
  • The MCC, OCC, CCC and UTMB races can only be followed using UTMB Mobility coaches.

Closed roads and car parks

Many roads and car parks are closed, making access to Les Contamines, Saint-Gervais, Courmayeur, La Fouly, Champex, Col de la Forclaz, Trient and Vallorcine** impossible by private car**.

Exceptional exemptions may be granted to follow the OCC, CCC or UTMB by car:

  • People with disabilities and families with children under 3 years old – more information [HERE].
  • Support crews for top-elite runners – more information [HERE].

For all other races (TDS, ETC and YCC), it is strongly recommended to use UTMB Mobility coaches to get to the start and follow the race.

Road congestion and parking difficulties should be expected if you use your private car. We strongly recommend using the UTMB Mobility service for all your journeys.

  • Access to Vallorcine remains possible via public transport (Train).

Base Camps

Base Camps are areas that can be accessed free of charge simply by presenting your UTMB Mobility wristband. They allow you to wait more comfortably in a warm space.

Located throughout the UTMB, CCC and TDS routes, Base Camps are accessible day and night.

The Base Camps are located near aid stations and are indicated by specific signs. Nearby, you will find refreshment areas where you can buy food and hot drinks.
