YOUTH CHAMONIX COURMAYEUR
The YCC is a hybrid format challenge for young runners born between 2007 and 2012 with 2 races : a first trail race taking place in Courmayeur on Tuesday and a second short race for the top 200 finishers on Wednesday in Chamonix, YCC The Revenge.
The YCC is the perfect opportunity for the new generation of runners to taste the magic of the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc: a finish under the UTMB arch, speakers hyping up the crowd and the atmosphere, live tracking of the races, a challenge that takes place in two countries... and is two times the fun.
YCC COURMAYEUR
A self-supported trail race, starting in the center of Courmayeur, with different distances and elevation gains according your age group:
- Minimes (born in 2011 or 2012): 4 km / 200m+
- Cadets (born in 2009 or 2010): 8 km / 600m+
- Juniors (born in 2007 or 2008): 15 km / 1,200m+
YCC THE REVENGE
The second race, taking place on Wednesday in Chamonix, will be reserved to the top 200 runners from the previous day's event. This race will follow a pursuit format, where runners will start based on their rankings from the prior day, with a consistent 5-second interval between each participant. The runner who achieves the fastest time will awarded the winner of YCC The Revenge.
This event will be held on a single 5 km-effort course*.
*The kilometre-effort is determined by adding the distance in kilometres to one-hundredth of the positive elevation gain in metres. The kilometre-effort converts the elevation gain into a flat equivalent.
